Poncha de Maracujá
It is an old recipe and there is no consensus on its origin. Some say that it was Portuguese and Castilian sailors who created it at the time of the Discoveries to take advantage of the fruit that was easily spoiled during sea voyages, others claim that the recipe was brought from India by Englishmen who settled on the island. Anyway, we will probably never know who is really right, what matters is that the Poncha Madeirense exists and that I can share with you the recipe for this nectar of the gods.
