Founded in London in 1737 by William Offley, initially as a wine trading house, Offley quickly began to export wines and later to produce its own Port Wine, giving the brand worldwide recognition as a creator of high quality wines. . A decisive moment for its projection was the entry into the company of Joseph James Forrester – later known as Barão de Forrester -, a charismatic man who played a key role in the expansion of Offley and the Port Wine industry in the 19th century. Varieties: Touriga França, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Barroca and Tinta Cão. With an attractive golden-red color, typical of a wine with more aging, Porto Offley Tawny has a delicate aroma reminiscent of ripe red fruits, enhanced by notes of dried fruits that give it added complexity. In the mouth, the good balance between soft tannins and its natural sweetness stands out, which harmoniously combine for an elegant and fine finish. Offley Tawny Port is a very versatile and attractive wine, ideal for traditional desserts, from burnt cream to apple, almond and cream pies. Served cold it is a great aperitif and goes well with some savory starters.
