The Quinta do Quetzal Reserva red is made from grapes grown in one of the most favourable vineyards on the Quinta do Quetzal estate, situated at its highest point - the Pedras vineyard. The grapes with greatest winemaking potential are pressed by hand, and then undergo a rigorous selection process in which the best bunches are chosen when entering the Winery. Later, the musts are fermented in French oak barrels for 8 to 10 days, after which the wine is left to mature for 12 months in new French oak barrels, and a further 8 months in bottles before being released to the market.
This wine is characterised by an intense aroma, marked by black fruits with a creamy toasted oak taste. It is delicate on the palate, with silky tannins perfectly mixed with a woody aroma, coming together to create a long, persistent taste. Its structure makes it the perfect accompaniment for slow-cooked meat or fish dishes.
